Years back, when Myspace blatantly played a big part in my life (I can admit this now, I was under-aged and lived at least 30 minutes from all my brejrins) I would spend hours browsing through the pages of refreshing underground (mostly British-based) and most amazing to me - unsigned artists.

One who I was most struck by was Sampha (at the time called Kid Nova). His electronic yet overwhelmingly soulful sound along with his crazy style of sampling immediately captured me. It was love at first sound.

Since I kicked my Myspace habbit I managed to lose track of his music but once again through the powers of online artist-networking I've been pleasantly surprised to see that he's released an EP on Young Turks with many of my favourite old school tracks of his re-worked.

His EP

YT039 - Sampha - Sundanza EP by Young Turks

Remix of XX's 'Basic Space'

YT030T - The xx - Basic Space 12" by Young Turks

He's playing tonight at the Young Turks do at The Alibi.

It's free so get down there if you like what you hear.
